Na zijn voetbalcarrière deed hij nog een tijdje scouting voor de Nationale Uefa's.

Biografie

Na zijn 1e seizoen bij SK Roeselare was hij nog 3 seizoenen actief als trainer.
Fernand Boone heeft heel lang café 'De Klokke' uitgebaat, het café aan het stadion op de Torhoutse Steenweg.
Gedurende die tijd was Boone vertegenwoordiger bij Gueuze Belle-Vue, de fabriek van Constant Vanden Stock, voorzitter van rsca.
Daarna was hij een achttal jaar zaakvoerder van horecazaak 't Pompierke in Sint-Martens Latem.
De legendarische keeper is na zijn passage bij Roeselare verhuist naar Sint-Martens Latem.
Op 26 september 2012 werd hij tijdens een kaartspel bij vrienden getroffen door een trombose.
Door deze aandoening is hij op woensdag 11 september 2013, bijna een jaar later, overleden.
