8 players on international duty

It's time for an international break following the victory at Genk. Eight players left the club after an international call-up.

Hans Vanaken, Simon Mignolet and Brandon Mechele are part of Belgium's Red Devils who play two Nations League group stage fixture. First Belgium faces Denmark on September 5. The game is played at Parken, the football stadium of FC Copenhagen. Three days later the national team hosts Iceland at the King Baudouin Stadium.

 

Charles De Ketelaere is part of Belgium's U21 who meet Germany on Tuesday September 8 for the EC qualifying round. Belgium's U21 has seven points and leads Group I with Wales, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Moldavia.

Die Mannschaft is second with six points but has a game in hand. The nine group stage winners and the best runner-up qualify for the 2021 European Championship in Hungary and Slovenia. The remaining eight teams who finished second will battle for the remaining four tickets.

 

On Tuesday the 8th, Nick Shinton and Thomas Van den Keybus play a friendly with the U19 against their German peers.
 

Tomorrow evening Eduard Sobol's Ukraine face Switserland in the Nations League group stage. On Sunday the 6th they play Spain.

 

Michael Krmencik earned an international call-up as well. The Czech faces Slowakia on Friday the fourth. Three days later the Czech Republic hosts Scotland.
