Charles De Ketelaere : “Still happy with the one point"

The opener between Club and Eupen turned out one with lots of twists and turns. In the end it was Charles De Ketelaere making it 2-2 in the 103rd (!) minute.

“A particular start to the season indeed", CDK started out. "An unbelievalbe second half, with the game being suspended all the time and hardly any room for football. First we had to wait for the VAR intervention, and then some Eupen players started coming down with cramps. Not exactly fun to be playing like that. Which is also why the ref decided to add ten more minutes. We just had to keep our cool. Particularly after that 1-2, we had to grab that point, which worked out well in the end. On the one hand we're not happy having lost out on the three points in our first home game of the season, but on the other hand we're also happy to have grabbed that point.”

It was striking to see Charles not exactly celebrating his goal with the grandest of joy. “Oh, it came with mixed feelings, really. Happy with that equaliser, surely, but also feeling bad that we didn't win. Maybe I'll be looking at it differently in a couple of days, but all in all I would have preferred my goal to have brought us the full three points.” (FDC)
