Club beat Torhout easily 1-7
Club Brugge won the second friendly with ease. Appiah, Vormer, Openda, Vossen, Rezaei, De Cuyper and Voet scored in the 1-7 victory against KM Torhout.
The warmth was almost impossible to bear for fans and players. Philippe Clement sent seven Academy players onto the pitch for the first half. The youthful side for the first-half dictated the pace of the game. Vormer created a first chance following a good move by Ngonge, but the Dutchman scuffed his finish wide.
Halfway the first half, Club finally broke the deadlock against Torhout that was mainly focussed on defending. De Ketelaere did well to link up play and play the ball through the middle towards Appiah, who sidefooted the ball against the back of the net.
Ngonge and Rits were close to doubling the lead, before Openda was hacked down inside the box. Ruud Vormer converted the spot kick: 2-0. The home side halved the deficit again when Vanhaecke took advantage from a miscommunication between Mata and Schoonbaert.
But Club restored the two-goal cussion before the half-time whistle. Openda headed in unstoppably on a great cross by Mata. Vormer almost scored his second when he rounded the goalkeeper, but a defender had been quick to clear.
Coach Clement picked a handful of new players for the second half in the likes of Amrabat, Vossen, Rezaei and new signing Kossounou. The duo Vossen and Rezaei proved a real scourge for the home side's defence. After a failed attempt by them, the ball started flying in.
Vossen tapped in a cross by Van der Brempt at the far post and Rezaei slotted home after he had taken the ball from a defender. Rezaei almost had a second one, but his fine shot was deflected over the crossbar. Vossen saw his effort thwarted by the goalkeeper.
Blauw-Zwart kept putting more pressure on the home side. Maxim De Cuyper curled in a left-footed free-kick brilliantly in the top corner and Voet was quick to tap in after Vossen's header had rattled the crossbar.
De Ketelaere was close to add his name to the score sheet, but headed Reaei's cross just wide. Club won the game easily 1-7. Next week Club prepare for the coming season in Garderen with friendlies against AZ and Heracles.
