It'll be the 10th confrontation between the two clubs in the Belgian top flight. Club won the four previous home matches against Leuven (last time 2-0 on 28/10/2015) and kept a clean sheet in three of them. OHL scored once in Club's 3-1 win on February 9 2013. The blue and black always managed to score at least one goal in the previous nine games.

OHL is the only Belgian team who kept the three points at home against Club Brugge (2-1). In that game OHL top striker Thomas Henry opened the scoring from the spot, Club equalised just before the break from the spot as well. Noa Lang with his first for the blue and black. But OHL won the game when Xavier Mercier slotted home past Mignolet. Despite having mustered 21 shots, Club left the King Power Stadium empty-handed. With Club (31 yellow cards) and OHL (40 yellow cards) the two teams with the lowest amount of yellow cards face each other.

Club Brugge won 6 official games at Jan Breydel and 8 league matches in a row. In the history of the club, the blue and black only had a longer winning streak on 7 occassions. The record is still 16 consecutive league wins. The last time Club won 8 league matches in a row dates back to January-April 2004 (10 consecutive wins). Club's top striker is still Noa Lang with eleven goals. Ruud Vormer is the assist king with 8 key passes.

The opponent

The club is currently batteling for a spot in PO 1 and PO 2. They're currently 6th and only two points away from the fourth spot, which would let them participate in Play Off 1. But they're also just two points ahead of nineth place, which would mean they're not in Play Off 2. OHL picked up 17 points from a possible 39 on the road. They won against Waasland-Beveren (1-3), KAA Gent (2-3), KV Kortrijk (0-3) and Zulte Waregem (2-3). They shared the spoils with KRC Genk (1-1), RSC Anderlecht (2-2), Excel Mouscron (2-2), Sporting Charleroi (1-1) and Standard de Liège (1-1). They lost the away matches against KV Oostende (3-1), Beerschot VA (4-2) and STVV (3-1).

In January Siebe Schrijvers joined OHL from Club Brugge. He is the 3rd former Club Brugge player in the squad, next to Thibault Vlietinck and Jérémy Perbet. OHL also welcomed defender Filip Benkovic (on loan from Leicester City), goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan (back from HC Sapporo) and midfielder Andy King (free agent). OHL parted ways with goalkeeper Daniel Iversen (back to Leicester, now on loan with Preston North End), midfielder Yohan Croizet (Ujpest FC), and defenders Brent Laes and Jordy Gillekens (both joined Lierse Kempenzonen).

OHL's assist king Xavier Mercier provided seven assists for top striker Thomas Henry, which is more than three times as much as any other duo in 1A. OHL scored a goal in 25 of their 27 league matches this season, which is the most of all Jupiler Pro League teams.

Head coach Brys will have to tinker with his midfield for tonight's game. Bulgarian midfielder Kristiyan Malinov sits out a one-match ban after he was red-carded in the match against Kortrijk and Matthieu Maertens is sidelined with an injury.
