Defeat for PSG, draw for Real, win for Galatasaray

It was a weekend of mixed success for Club Brugge's European opponents. Paris Saint-Germain slipped to defeat against bottom of the league Dijon and Real Madrid were kept at bay by Real Betis. Galatasaray was the only team that bagged the three points following a 2-0 win against Rizespor.

Dijon - Paris Saint-Germain 2-1

Paris Saint-Germain had a poor dress rehearsal for next Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Club Brugge. Thomas Tuchel's team suffered a 2-1 defeat against bottom of the league Dijon. Kylian Mbappé gave the visitors the lead after twenty minutes on a pass by Angel di Maria, but Dijon got back into the game with a goal just before and just after the break. First Navas spilled the ball and Chouiar was quick to tap in the loose ball. After the break Cadiz fired it in between Navas' legs.

Tuchel made some chances in the closing minutes, like subbing on Cavani, but les Parisiens couldn't find the equaliser and thus suffer a third league defeat. But there's nothing to worry as they are still comfortably in the lead. (SF)

Real Madrid – Real Betis 0-0

Real Madrid was kept at bay by Real Betis. The hosts grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and looked like taking the lead after just eight minutes, but Eden Hazard's goal was disallowed for offside. Los Blancos were firmly in control and created a number of clear-cut chances: Sergio Ramos' header was saved, Kroos' free-kick just went over the crossbar, while Modric and Benzema failed to hit the target.

Just before the half-time whistle the visitors from Sevilla had some chances, but it remained goalless. After the break Courtois denied Fekir with a fantastic save, but Real missed a few solid chances as well.

No goals so Real Madrid fail to jump on the opportunity to take the lead in La Liga. They are now joint leaders with Barcelona that left the stadium of Levante empty-handed.

Next Wednesday Real take on Galatasaray at the Bernabeú. (SF)
