It was with pain in our hearts that we learned of the passing of former player José Reynaert. He was 102 years old.
José Reynaert, born on December 7, 1921 in Beernem, was a longtime fixture at Blauw-Zwart. He began his soccer career at SC Beernem, after which he transferred to Club Brugge in 1938. His career was cut short by World War II, but Reynaert finished his life as a soccer player at Blauw-Zwart until 1947. Reynaert also held a record. He was the last living player active before World War II in the highest division of Belgian soccer and was the oldest living player to play with Club in first division.
We wish the family and loved ones much strength.
Rest in peace, José.
