José Izquierdo continues recovery at Club Brugge

José Izquierdo returns to Club Brugge to continue his recovery.

Izquierdo (29) moved to Club in 2014, his first European club. The Colombian winger became one of the crowd favourites during his three-year stay at Jan Breydel. In 58 Jupiler Pro League matches he scored 23 goals and gave 11 assists. He won the Golden Boot, the Pro Football Player of the Year award, a title and a Belgian Cup before making the move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Initially it all panned out great for Izquierdo in the Premier League, but the last two seasons Izquierdo suffered several setbacks because of different injuries. In June his contract with the Seagulls expired.

Club gives Izquierdo the chance to continue his recovery at the Basecamp.

José Izquierdo: "I am thrilled that Club gives me this chance. I have always felt loved here and I couldn't find a better place than the Belfius Basecamp to continue my recovery. The "Club family" is not just marketing, but something I really feel here. I will do anything in my power to return to my best level. I hope to be able to show my gratitute on the pitch in due course."
