José Izquierdo returns to Club Brugge to rehabilitate from his injuries.
Izquierdo (29) was brought to Europe by Club in 2014. The Colombian winger grew into a real crowd pleaser in 3 years of blue-black. 23 Goals and 11 assists in 58 Jupiler Pro League matches, a Golden Shoe, professional footballer of the year, champion and cup winner: Izquierdo left for Brighton & Hove Albion through the big gate.
In his dream league, the Premier League, things initially went well for "Joske" as well but in the last two seasons he was increasingly held back by injuries. In June, his contract in England expired. Club is now giving Izquierdo the chance to rehabilitate in peace at Basecamp and return to his old level.
José Izquierdo: "I am very happy that Club is giving me this opportunity. I have always felt good here and the facilities to grow back to my old level are nowhere better than in the Belfius Basecamp. The 'Club family' is not a hollow slogan but something I really feel here. I will do everything I can to get back to my old level and hope to eventually be able to show my gratitude on the field at Jan Breydel as well.
