Philippe Clement: “We'll need a strong Club against Kiev”

Club crushed Sint-Truiden on fixture two of the Jupiler Pro League. Philippe Clement was of course very satisfied with the team performance.

“We put few pressure the first ten minutes. The numerous position switches of STVV made us hesitate in the beginning. The first home match of the regular league is a bit like the first day at school. The players want to prove themselves and are a bit nervous. That changed after the opening goal. We created many chances and scored even more. However, you need to take into account that Sint-Truiden do not have the same team anymore as last season. Playing against a good team is not fun when you lost your best players."

David Okereke scored again twice and showed his qualities one more time. "In contrast to some other players, David clearly did not feel the same suspense for this first home match. He always seems very calm. When he arrived last month, it looked like he has been playing here for years. Everyone likes him and he is eager to learn. He will provide us with many beautiful moments in the future."

Philippe Clement keeps both feet on the ground. "Tuesday's game against Dynamo Kiev will be one of a totally different level. I saw some weak points today so we still have quite some work to do. My assistants and myself already saw different games of Dynamo Kiev. They have many young talents and have a lot of quality on each position. We will need a very strong Club Brugge in order to go to the next qualifying round."  (SF)
