Reactions after PSV – Club

Having just beaten Dutch runners-up PSV, coach Philippe Clement and youngsters Van der Brempt and De Ketelaere paid a visit to the press.

Philippe Clement : “Mature performance”

The 1-2 win over PSV left Club coach Clement smiling. "This was a more than decent performance. Particularly in the first half with so many young players between the lines. They really pulled their weight. There's no denying this is a well-deserved win, with two fantastic goals to boot. Their goal brought some excitement to the game, but we never really came into trouble after that. This is something we can build upon. The day after tomorrow, another interesting challenge awaits in Ajax. I'm already looking forward to that one.’’

Ignace Van der Brempt : “Content”

It was a beaming Ignace Van der Brempt heading for the Mixed Zone after his sixty minutes against the Dutch outfit. “Both collectively and individually, this was a solid performance. I'm also happy with how I did. We took on 2020 in fine spirits. Our performance is just a result of the fine work we did here in the past couple of days. We now need to take this to the rest of our games.”

Charles De Ketelaere : “Interesting game”

Club's attacking midfielder had a fine chance to open the score, but he came inches short of sliding in Vlietinck's fine cross. "A pity, yes. It would have really made my mum happy, she followed this game from her terrace in Knokke. It feels great to be receiving her words of praise over the phone, and I'm not complaining about my own performance either. We showed a lot of effort with our team, it was an interesting game. As a young player, there's a lot you can take from these games.”
