Ronny Deila is Club Brugge's new head coach

Ronny Deila will be the new head coach of Blauw-Zwart next season. Club Brugge reached an agreement with Standard de Liège and Ronny Deila earlier today.

Club Brugge can announce its new head coach for next season. Ronny Deila left Standard de Liège to sign a deal with Club. Deila (47) is a coach who is used to winning silverware. The Norwegian won two titles with Celtic Glasgow and won the Eliteserien with Stromsgodset. He lifted the national cup with those two teams as well. In 2021 he won the title in the MLS with New York City FC.

Deila succeeds interim coach Rik De Mil. De Mil can join Deila's technical staff and will decide on his future in the coming weeks. Ronny Deila brings with him assistant Efrain Juarez. The former Mexican defender and international has also been Deila's assistant at Standard and New York City. Goalkeeper coach Wouter Biebauw, video analyst Matthias Bernaert and physical coaches Eddie Rob and Carl Vandenbussche keep their position in the technical staff. Nicky Hayen and Steve Colpaert return to Club NXT as agreed, as does coach Hayk Milkon who returns to the U18.
The formal introduction of new coach Ronny Deila will take place on the first training session of the new season at the end of June.
