Ruud Vormer: “Controlled the game”

The first Club goal was similar to Sunday's goal against Standard. Okereke scored thanks to an assist of Vormer. The captain of the Blues also gave the assist for the goal of Diagne in the final seconds of the game. Vormer already gave ten assists this season.

“We deserve this victory. We created many chances but had to decide the game earlier. They could also have scored in the end. Simon saved us in the final minutes. Winning here is always tough but we did a great job this evening. It looked like we were under pressure in the beginning of the second half but we controlled the game on the pitch. We won and that is the most important thing. The goal of Okereke was similar to Sunday's goal against Standard."

Vormer already gave many assists. "I told Hans: they score when I give the final pass and not when he does (smiles). It was pity for him because he gave a couple of good passes that deserved better. But I am lucky that I can also give good passes. I don't think I've ever experienced a series of six consecutive away wins at Club. We are doing well for the moment. We are very happy with this and need to continue like this. I am of course very happy with my ten assists but I look forward to score myself again too. Assists are equally important but I do not focus on it." (MDK)
