Ruud Vormer: “Knew straight away it was going in!”
Quite the week for Club's Ruud Vormer, starting with an Oranje selection, and ending with a goal from free kick at Eupen. The Dutchman was pleased as he offered his post-game views.
“We are getting in the right rhythm. Today's victory was vital as we are drawing nearer to the play-offs, as they often give us a hard time here. We should take this feeling to our game next week and to the following encounters. This is the type of performance you can relish in. Next week, we'll be hosting the game against Mouscron. They've been having a fine run lately, but we should keep the points at Jan Breydel and then see how Genk did at Waregem. The second phase of the league then takes off, and we just need to do our thing then. Scoring goals is always great, but to be scoring from free kick like this is just top. I knew from the moment I touched it that it was going in. Just like at Standard and at Charleroi, they are using a Select ball. I always hit those best.” (KV)
