Siebe Schrijvers: “Glad we could pamper the fans"

Siebe Schrijvers started from kickoff against Zulte Waregem and thanked his coach for the confidence with a very important assist for the opening goal of Diatta.

“I am happy we could also win our last game of 2019", smiled Siebe Schrijvers afterwards. "We scored four goals and actually conceded any chances so we can definitely be satisfied. Especially in the first half we had difficulties with their extra man on midfield. Therefore, there was hardly any free space for us. Luckily we conquered the ball in their box and I was able to give the assist for the opening goal of Diatta. Things were easier afterwards but we still had to wait for the second redeeming goal."

David Okereke appeared on the pitch thirty minutes before the final whistle and he immediately scored two goals in only three minutes time. "“David (Okereke, nvdr) played an excellent game and we still got a chance to pamper our fans in this way. They are always there, both at home and away and the players certainly appreciate that. A lot of people think Club can break records this season but the players are certainly not thinking about that. We just have to continue like this after the winter break and we will see in May where we end. I thought to be injured at the end of the game but I could still finish the match on the pitch. I hope one week of rest is enough to recover.” (FDC)
