Siebe Schrijvers: “Make up for this in the Play-Offs”
The author of the goal of hope in the second half, Siebe Schrijvers was helpless to see Mouscron grab the three points at Jan Breydel.
“An atrocious feeling. I reckon we were nowhere at the start, we never had that second ball. Things went better in the second half, with more chances too. I really should have scored that first half opportunity. Their keeper put up a front, and I wanted to chip him. In retrospect, I really should have done so, but it went too quickly. In the second half, we started out great, had some chances, backed by our fans. And that's when we scored.”
Mouscron has been the team to beat this current year. "We lined up their results so far, and figured out they have plenty of quality. They made the most of the little chances they had. Our first half was one of our meekest performances this year. When you play Mouscron at home, you just expect a win. This would have taken us closer to Genk. We now have some time to take some rest, recover, and gear up for the Play-Offs. There's not a singular favourite, we already saw that even the sixth in place can participate. No team in the top 6 has been able to beat us here, and we're always capable of that bit more in the top games. We really should have bagged more points. That would have taken us level or above Genk. It's a shame, really, and we need to make up for that in the Play-Offs.” (KN)
