Siebe Schrijvers: “Secretly dreamed of this”
Facing his former employer, Siebe Schrijvers topped his great performance off with a goal.
“I reckon Genk was off to a flying start, resulting in the opener. We started out much better in the second half, keeping Genk from breaking out. It was one of those games where you have to seize your moments. They were the better in some moments, while we were better at other times. We may have merited the win a bit more than they did, as we had the best chances throughout the game. I don't think that many teams will be capable of pushing Genk back as much as we did today.”
Schrijvers netted on against Genk, which clearly pleased him. “I secretly dreamed of it prior to the game, and I'm really happy it came true. Club didn't deserve to go down today, so it was a vital goal. It's a special feeling to be scoring at Genk, even if I don't feel vindictive whatsoever.“
The forward also offered his views on the upcoming task in Monaco. “That game is hugely important. Everyone within the club realises that. We are really set on claiming three points at a direct competitor in the Champions League. It will take some speedy recovery, but it's with a solid mind that we live towards the game on Tuesday.” (VM)
