"Four out of nine, that is simply not good enough. We started the match well, but made too many individual mistakes. We gave away chances from which Zulte Waregem could have scored. In the second half, we took the lead and there was hope that the tide was turning. Unfortunately, we did not manage to finish it off, and the visitors came back into the match. A disappointing draw in the end and that's not what you hoped for of course. When you lose the previous game in Eupen, you hope to respond with a win at home. When you get ahead, you hope to play liberated. We had some half chances, but not the big chance to put the game to bed. As long as it remains 1-0, it is never over. That happened with a goal we gave away too easily and then Zulte Waregem focussed on their defensive duties."
Simon Mignolet was called upon a few times in the first half to keep Club at bay. "I try to help where I can, I'm part of the team. You always play football with eleven and each individual is as strong as the team performs. It's not easy for me either, being under pressure. But we shouldn't doubt the qualities of the players' group. We have to be disappointed right now. Indivudual performances are not what is most imporantant at the moment. If you can't win at home, that's a bad result for Club Brugge. You cannot be satisfied with that one point at home. You shouldn't look for excuses, but try to find the solution. We have to get up as a group and come out of this better. The will and intention was there to win the game, but that's not enough. You have to respond with a win as soon as possible to turn things around. We had hoped it would be today." (KN)
