Simon Mignolet: “Try and get that good run again”

Colassin's crossed shot beat Simon Mignolet to the punch, but in the final minutes of the game, Club's goalie proved more successful in keeping Saelemaekers from scoring the 2-2.

“To be winning a game with a rough start makes it all the sweeter. We didn't start out well, and conceded early on. We had seen some footage of Colassin, so it's not like we didn't know him. He played a fine game. Fortunately for us, we were able to equalise still in the first half. When you see Hans going for that ball, you just know it's going in. After the break, with some tweaks, we created enough chances. We should have added more, but it's not every day you get to beat Anderlecht at home three times ine year. That's just grand. You could tell that they had learned from our last encounter, they kept us from playing it round. They weren't able to keep up the high pressure for the entire ninety minutes, though. We'll now try to get that good run going again. Starting with next Wednesday's Cup game against Zulte Waregem. We will always be favourites, everywhere we go. That's why it was vital to get in the shape of things again.”

With just a few minutes to play, a cracker exploded right next to Mignolet; fortunately the goalie was able to finish the game. “Those crackers, it's a pity things like that happen. I always try to be respectful of everyone, but it's a shame this happens, really. The Belgian league is having its moment, and that's what we need to reach the headlines with abroad. Not with things like that. And that's what Vincent Kompany also reckons.” (SF)
