Tonight at 6 pm: KV Kortrijk – Club Brugge

Club Brugge will face KV Kortrijk this evening for what will be their third away game this season.

KV Kortrijk endend on place 10 in the regular league last season and ended second in Play-Off 2. Many changes occurred in the Guldensporenstadium this summer. Yannis Anastasiou became head coach. Lars Veldwijk (Aalesund FK), Joãozinho (Tondela), Andriy Totovytsky (back to Shakhtar), Idriss Saadi (back to Cardiff City), Dimitris Goutas (back to Olympiakos), Gertjan De Mets (Zulte Waregem), Xavier Mercier (Cercle Brugge), Tomislav Kis (Soligorsk) and Thanasis Papazoglou left the team. The West-Flemish team was strengthened with some known names such as Bennard Kumordzi (Racing Genk), Bryan Verboom (on loan from Zulte Waregem), Christophe Lepoint (Zulte Waregem), Sebastien Bruzzese (Club Brugge) and Gary Kagelmacher (Maccabi Haifa).

 

Kortrijk obtained 6 points out of the first three fixtures. On fixture one, they lost at Mambourg 1-0 but won two games afterwards. The first home game against Lokeren was won 1-0 thanks to a goal of Lepoint. Last weekend, Kortrijk won at Eupen 1-2. Jovan Stojanović and Teddy Chevalier scored.

 

Team selection: Bruzzese, Kumordzi, Kagelmacher, Kovacevic, Rougeaux, De Smet, Ajagun, Chevalier, Kage, Stojanovic, Van der Bruggen, Lepoint, Budkivskyi, Galens, Verboom, Ouali, Kaminski, D'Haene and Van Loo.

CLUB BRUGGE

The away game at the Guldensporenstadium is typically a difficult one for the Blues. For the moment, Club Brugge have a perfect score in the Jupiler Pro League with nine points out of three games. Consequently, they face Kortrijk with confidence. Last weekend, Club won at Zulte Waregem 1-2 thanks to goals of Emmanuel Dennis and Jelle Vossen. Dennis and Zinho Gano top the goalscorer ranking with four goals now. Last Thursday, Club - AEK Athens ended 0-0 in the UEFA Europe League Play-Offs, but everything is still possible in the capital of Greece.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

KV KORTRIJK - CHRISTOPHE LEPOINT

Christophe Lepoint was transferred from Zulte Waregem to KV Kortrijk this summer and started well. The 32-year-old already gave two assists and scored once. The former Red Devil has many experience in the Belgian first division since he also played for AA Gent, Waasland-Beveren and Moeskroen before. As youth player at Anderlecht, Lepoint played in attack but he is an attacking midfielder now. He can play both central in midfield and as winger.

CLUB BRUGGE – MARVELOUS NAKAMBA

Marvelous Nakamba is one of the new Club players. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder was bought from Vitesse. He recovered 291 balls last season and was a key player in the Cup final against AZ Alkmaar. Nakamba started his European adventure in 2012 as an intern at Cercle Brugge. Finally, he got a contract at Nancy in the French League 2.  He moved to Vitesse in the summer of 2014 where he fully demonstrated his capacities. In three seasons, he played 77 games in the Dutch first division.

MAN IN BLACK – Sebastien Delferière

Mr. Sebastien Delferière has been apppointed referee for this West-Flemish top game. His assistants are Mr. Yves De Neve and Mr. Florian Lemaire. Mr. Lothar D'Hondt is the fourth official. The 36-year-old refereed Club's opening game at Lokeren (0-4) earlier this season.
