Victories for PSG and Galatasaray, a defeat for Real

It was a good dress rehearsal for Paris Saint-Germain prior to Tuesday's game against Club Brugge. Les Parisiens beat Nice 1-4. Galatasary won as well - 3-2 against Sivasspor - but Real Madrid suffered a 1-0 defeat away against Mallorca.

Nice - Paris Saint-Germain 1-4

PSG celebrated a large 1-4 win against Nice. Coach Tuchel couldn't make use of Neymar who's sidelined with an inury, while Cavani and Mbappé were on the bench as they just returned from injury.

Ángel Di Maria gave Les Parisiens the lead after fifteen minutes and he doubled that lead five minutes later on a pass by former Club Brugge player Thomas Meunier.

The hosts pulled one back after an hour play, but they shot themselves in the foot - twice, as two players were red-carded in the last quarter. Substitute Kylian Mbappé killed the game with a goal and an assist for Icardi.

PSG still lead the pack in Ligue 1. They have 24 points out of 10 games and are five points ahead of number two Nantes. (SF)

Galatasary hosted Sivasspor on matchday eight in the Turkish Süper Lig. Fatih Terim's team opened the scoring through Florian Andone after twenty minutes play and shortly before the break the Romanian doubled that lead from the spot.

Twenty minutes before the end the visitors pulled one back, but Ryan Babel immediately restored the two-goal cushion for Gala. Sivasspor clawed themselves back into the game in the closing minutes of the match, but Galatasary didn't get into trouble anymore. Thanks to this victory Galatasaray are now fourth with two points behind league leaders Trabzonspor.

Real Mallorca - Real Madrid 1-0

It was a bad day at the office for Real Madrid in La Liga. The team of Zinédine Zidane suffered a 1-0 defeat away against Mallorca and are no longer the table toppers. Eden Hazard missed out this game due to birth of his son, but Thibaut Courtois returned in between the sticks. He was already beaten after seven minutes when Lago Junior slotted home his first of the season. Shortly after he scored again, but this time he had strayed offside and the goal was disallowed.

Los Blancos barely created any chances against the well-organized defence of the home side and were down to ten men when defender Odriozola was sent off with a second yellow card twenty minutes before the end.

Sergio Ramos almost leveled on a set piece but his free-kick skimmed the top of the crossbar.

Real failed to equalize and saw Barcelona jump to the first place as they had won their game earlier that day. (SF)
