A multi-faceted young striker with speed, dribbling abilities and vista. Krépin Diatta has something to live up to, and is yet again making a name for himself in Belgium.
Diatta was raised in a family with two brothers and one sister, in the South of Senegal. He started out in a local football school, but soon made the move to the north of the country to join the Oslo Football Academy. After an outstanding Africa Cup U20, seeing Senegal lose to Zambia in the finals, his name was jotted on the scouting lists of Norwegian Sarpsborg 08. In Norway, young Krépin needed some time to adjust to a different climate and the constraints of playing professional football. But one year later, having played 26 games and scored five goals, Club was all too eager to sign the young talent. Another period of adaptation followed for Diatta, making his debut in the 2017-2018 Play-Offs, and earning a regular starting spot in the team that won the 15th league title for Club. The future seems bright, with also a nomination for the CAF awards as one of the best young African players in 2017 added to the List of Honours. The Senegalese has been instrumental in Club's success ever since, and has signed a contract binding him until 2024.
