Hans Vanaken, Simon Mignolet and Brandon Mechele will meet Odilon Kossounou' s Ivory Coast with our Red Devils . The friendly will take place on Thursday evening, October 8, at 20:45 at the King Baudouin Stadium. A few days later, on Sunday, October 11 at 18:00, our compatriots will cross the channel for the Nations League match against England. Our Devils are leading 6 out of 6 after two days of play. England dropped points after a 0-0 against Denmark. Kossounou then heads back to Japan after the practice game, for a practice match on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 4:45 p.m.
Charles De Ketelaere is already in action earlier with the national U21 against Wales in the qualifying rounds for the European Championship. In Group I with Wales, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Moldova, the youngsters are in the lead with 10 points. The match will be finished at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. A few days later, on October 13 at 16:00, Moldova is the next opponent in the same task. The nine group winners and the top runners-up will qualify directly for the 2021 European Championship in Hungary and Slovenia. The eight other runners-up compete in the playoffs for the final four tickets. Our newcomer Noa Lang is also fighting for those tickets with his Oranje. As group leader in Group G, they host Gribraltar on Thursday (20:00) and Cyprus on Tuesday, Oct. 18 (20:00).
International soccer is also on the cards for Krépin Diatta. He will be in action with Senegal in a friendly against Morocco on Friday night (20:00). On Oct. 13 (21:00) his team will meet Mauritania, a country on Africa's west coast.
Eduard Sobol 's Ukraine then meets two more top sides, France (tomorrow night at 21:10) and Germany (Saturday at 20:45), in the group stage of the Nations League. Lots of matches to look forward to!
