After the big win against Antwerp, Club started the cup game against AA Gent full of confidence, but the game turned out to be a disappointment. Blauw-Zwart lost 0-3, meaning their cup ambitions can be put away.
"We knew Gent was a very good team," said Alfred Schreuder. "But we continued the line of last Sunday in the first half. We put high pressure, but after barely a minute we made a mistake and fell behind. Even then you see that there's nothing to worry about, but that second goal shouldn't fall. We didn't hold the ball well. After that red card and the 0-3 it became difficult. They kept trying and going forward, but you can see that Gent is a seasoned team. We tried to adjust by playing with three strikers and four defenders, which meant we might have to give up the midfield. Unfortunately that did not help. Last month in Gent we didn't play well and won, while today we played a good first half and lost. However, we know that Gent is a good team and that we have to deal with them in the league as well.
