Benfica Lisbon, Blue-Black's opponent in two weeks at the Jan Breydel Stadium, won 0-3 over Arouca, seventh in the standings, on the nineteenth match day. Joao Mario and Musa were the goal scorers with service.
It was a game without too many chances, but Benfica was the most industrious team. However, it took until the 24th minute for the team from the capital to open the scoring in the second great chance of the match. After a nice combination on the right, Joao Mario controlled a cross from Aursnes. Afterwards, both goalkeepers had little work to do.
The second half began as the first: with field advantage for Benfica. Joao Mario was on the scoreboard again ten minutes after the break. After another smooth combination through the center, Guedes managed to serve the Portuguese to double the score. Arouca did try, but did not manage the connecting goal. Musa managed to put the 0-3 on the board in the 80th minute after he managed to curl a dropped ball around goalkeeper De Arruabarrena.
Benfica thus remains in the lead in the Primeira Liga with ten points ahead of Braga, which, however, has played two matches less. (EV)
