Bjorn Meijer regained a starting spot in the regional derby against KV Oostende. The Dutch defender thought it was clever how Boyata recovered in the match and helped Blauw-Zwart back on top to a 4-2 victory.
"In the beginning we came through hard. Then it's nice to have a soccer player like Hans on the team who can break it open out of nowhere. Then we end up making it hard on ourselves, but we were able to close with three points which is important. It seems like there is a bit of a curse on penalty kicks. Well, what is it due to? Everyone knows our qualities, I can't put my finger on it. How it went wrong three times now and also in the beginning of the season. Well, we have to recover and close this out. The three points are with us and now on to Tuesday. As a player you hope for playing minutes, otherwise you are not right in the soccer world. So I hope for playing time in Leverkusen."
Dedryck Boyata recovered after his miss. "He knows that himself and then it's clever how he picks it back up. He has enough experience for that, but it's never nice to be so involved in a goal. We don't have to explain anything to him. In the last two games we swallowed six goals. But before that we showed that we don't get many against. This is not a defensive problem it seems to me, we have shown enough that we can keep the zero." (KN)
