In the absence of some star players, a very young Club NXT was still able to take home a point against Francs Borains. Our youngsters quickly took a 0-2 lead with goals from Faraas and Lenn De Smet. The home team pressed well afterwards and evened the score with two goals by Kadiri.
Coach Hayen dropped Da Silva and Furo into the starting lineup for the first time. Joel Ordoñez and goalkeeper Joe Bursik also came to the kickoff after a long absence due to injuries.
After a hesitant start by both teams, the first chance was for Kadiri. The ball went wide of Bursik's goal. Ball loss by Goemaere almost killed Club NXT, but Francs Borains' goal was disallowed for offside. On Blauw-Zwart's counterattack, the home team was caught on speed. Furo gave a delightful assist to Faraas. 0-1! Barely two minutes later Club NXT again rushed towards goal. This time Furo served Lenn De Smet, he did not hesitate and doubled the score.
Francs Borains then took control of the game, pressing and winning more and more duels. Fortunately, goalkeeper Bursik stopped many attempts. Via a clever save, he caught Guirassy's blast. On the half hour the ball landed on a corner kick by Kadiri who left Bursik without a chance. 1-2. Bursik had to show a few more times afterwards, but kept the lead intact for now.
