Club plays 1-1 draw against PSV

After last week's 4-1 victory against AEK Athens, Club left for Sint-Michielsgestel in the Netherlands on an internship. Club played its third practice match leading up to the new season against PSV as the conclusion of the internship. Blauw-Zwart played a 1-1 draw after goals from Nielsen & Saibari.

PSV applied high pressure in the first ten minutes. Early in the first half Saibari came 1-on-1 with Mignolet, he saved well. Moments later it was Saibari again, but his shot went over. Til reached the free-flowing Mauro Junior with a cross, he kicked wide.

Club tapped well in their own half, but created few chances. It was mainly PSV that went in search of that first goal. Til came out on a cross from Saibari to Mignolet, our goalkeeper saved well. Moments later it was Saibari again with a distance shot, but his hard kick went over.

At Club, meanwhile, right back Et-Taïbi swapped places with Spileers who was left central. Just before halftime, PSV had the ultimate chance to make it 1-0 through de Jong, but again it was Mignolet who pulled off a good save.

Second Half

At the start of the second half, Vermant, Lenn De Smet and Talbi came in. They came in place of Nusa, Jutglà & Tzolis. Club stepped up the pressure and with success! Club's first real chance was a direct hit. Vanaken took advantage of fumbles in the PSV defense and passed to Nielsen, who took a shot and curled the ball beautifully into the top right corner.

Moments later, Blauw-Zwart was dangerous again. Talbi advanced from the left flank, but his shot went narrowly wide.

PSV went all out for the equalizer. De Jong outmaneuvered Et-Taïbi and came face to face with Mignolet, who made a fine reflex save. Two minutes later, PSV did score the tying goal. Saibari came in from the left and kicked the ball into the nets: 1-1. Moments later, PSV made their first substitution: Fernandez replaced the injured Obispo.

A lot of new faces at both clubs around the seventieth minute. At PSV, there were eleven substitutions: Drommel, Dams, Merién, Bresser, Oppegård, Babadi, Land, Bawuah, Lang, Uneken & Bahaty. At Club, Jackers, Yameogo, Boyata, Romero, Wylin, Granados, Liam De Smet & Barberá filled in. The latter was firmly brought down moments later, forcing him to the side early. Lund Jensen was his replacement. Noa Lang was also allowed to leave PSV's side moments later. The former Bruges player had only just come back from injury and therefore only played twenty minutes. Bisiwu came on for Talbi. He was allowed to complete the last quarter of an hour, but there were no real chances.

Club ends its training camp with a 1-1 draw at De Herdgang. Next Wednesday, there are two more practice matches for Blauw-Zwart: one against Dender behind closed doors, and one against Norwich, with an audience at The Nest.
