Club takes six out of six after hard-fought win at Dender

Club Brugge won 1-2 at the Dender field this afternoon. Blauw-Zwart showed dominance in the first half, which also saw both goals from Nilsson and Tzolis. Just before halftime, Rodes scored the tying goal. At the end of the match, Ordóñez prevented the equalizer with a good defensive action.

After a pleasing victory against Antwerp last match day, coach Nicky Hayen decided not to make any changes to his starting line-up against Dender.

In the early stages of the match, both teams were hesitant. After about ten minutes Tzolis got some space on the flank and played in Nilsson. His chance was saved by Verrips. Moments later, De Cuyper crossed well for Nilsson. The Swede headed the ball neatly into the far corner: 0-1.

Second half

After the break, Club immediately put pressure on. Skov Olsen almost immediately delivered a dangerous cross to Tzolis, but Verrips just barely managed to hit the ball. Club remained dangerous, with Skov Olsen shooting hard over from the right flank on the hour. Shortly after, Mignolet had to act again on a long-distance shot by Viltard.

Fifteen minutes before time, Nicky Hayen made three changes: Vermant, Siquet and Jutglà came on. Dender had a big chance when Nsimba shot from close range, but Mignolet saved.

Just before time, Romero came on for Skov Olsen. Dender was still looking for the equalizer, but Club's defense held firm. In extra time, Romero made a mistake that allowed Hens to cross. Soladio looked like he was going to score, but Ordóñez saved on the line. Club held on, taking home the three points.
