Club YLA beats Standard Fémina 4-2

Lotto Super League

Club versus Standard. A match between the number 4 and 5 in the standings last Saturday afternoon in Aalter. Club YLA started the match with two points more than Standard - an excellent opportunity for our ladies to increase their lead!

After a first half bereft of many chances, it were the visitors who opened the scoring on 42 minutes to head into the break with a small lead.

Club YLA, however, showed more desire and urgency at the start of the second half. After a triple subsitution in the 62nd minute, when Kerkhove, Van Koot and Vande Velde came on, the pressure on Standard Fémina even increaded. That pressure paid off in the 77th minute when Van Heeswijk calmly finished off a good attacking move down the middle. Three minutes later Amy Littel gave Blauw-Zwart the lead when she converted a penalty kick.

Club YLA kept on hammering away on the visitors' defence and scored two more. Nelemans extended the lead further with a goal in the 82nd minute, before Angel Kerkhove put the game beyond all doubt in the 89th minute with a fourth goal for Club YLA.

In stoppage time Delille pulled one back for Standard Fémina, but that was it for the visitors.

After a strong second-half performance and deadly efficiency in the closing minutes, Club YLA kept the three points at home in a memorable come-from-behind win.
