Denis Odoi immediately scored the equalizer for Club after that goal by Antwerp. Club was launched, took full control of the match and won convincingly 4-1. Denis Odoi was even rewarded for his good match.
Denis Odoi: "We are growing as a team"
"I was voted Man of the Match, whether it is effectively so I'll leave in the middle. There were a lot of good performances today. We can be satisfied and certainly with the reaction of the group after the goal against. That was a stupid goal. We poked at it quickly enough and we kept going. We were the better team before that and we had chances. That's also the sign of a good team, being able to react in the face of adversity."
Club approaches to within seven points of leader Union. "I'm not concerned with points. We are not first and it is important to be first. We are growing as a team and the coach hasn't been here that long. He has to fit new players in full competition, at an important stage. Today we were in good in medium block and that is difficult to disrupt. We have to put pressure like that and drop back as a team and defend in block."
Denis feels top in his central midfield role. "I do my best for the team, but there are things I can do better. There is a difference with me and Hans in midfield, for example. There are good performances and there will be days when things are less. I am in that position and in ball possession I am central. I have to grow in that role."
Club was able to convince Denis Odoi for a return to Belgium. "I have been away from Belgium for a long time and I have that past. I've played where I've played, it is what it is. I always do my best no matter what team. I was happy in England and played a lot of games. There were not many teams that could convince me, but Club was one of them. Also privately, it's a nice place to live in Belgium. Two and a half years, I shouldn't think short term. I let the promotion to Premier League slip, along with a nice premium. It does say what I was willing to give for coming here." (KN)
