Eidur Gudjohnsen joins Club Brugge until summer 2014

Club Brugge have this evening completed the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen from Cercle Brugge on a one-and-a-half year deal, keeping him at the club until the Summer of 2014.

The deal is still subject to a medical test, after which Gudjohnsen (34) will join the rest of the team Tuesday for a first training session. On Sunday he can make his debut for Club Brugge against his former team Cercle. Club Brugge and Cercle have agreed that Bakenga, on a reverse loan spell, can play against Club.

Arnar Gretarsson: "I'm delighted to finally announce this transfer. I am convinced Eidur will be an asset to the team on and off the pitch. He lives for his sport and will show his added value to the team very soon."

Eidur Gudjohnsen: "I am very pleased with my transfer to Club Brugge. I am honoured that they wanted me to join them. I look forward to play on the higher level of Club and to compete for the prizes. I trully wish Cercle Brugge all the best in the remainder of this season."
