Emmanuel Dennis: “Played with confidence”
A constant threat to the Gent defense, Emmanuel Dennis produced two fine assists, proving instrumental in Club's broad 3-0 win over AA Gent.
“I'm stoked. We've got the three points, and I'm happy with how we played as a team. We played brimming with confidence, and with fine football. Every game is important in the Play-Offs, and you have to try and win them all. Today we brought some quality football to the table, applying fine pressure which helped us to a great performance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We recovered well after the international break, and at training everything was going according to plan. That sending off also helped us. Odjidja is a good and strong player. With him on the pitch, he's one to reckon with.”
An even broader win was definitely in the cards for Club. “Absolutey, we could have scored more, and I could have produced more assists too. I really wanted three, a hattrick of assists. Maybe that's for our next game. An assist is nearly just as good as scoring yourself. I've been on the score line a couple of times this season, but haven't been able to decide games with passes. In the league, these are my first assists. As a winger, I really should be producing more assists.”
Blauw-Zwart now made a statement: we're ready to go for that title. “I absolutely still believe in the title, but Genk also has a fine outfit. The Play-Offs are interesting, and you need to be strong as a team. Everyone's very focused. It's still football, and you need to work hard to get the points. I really love these big games. It takes a lot of quality and confidence to perform well.” (KN)
