For our ladies team, the semifinal is the final hurdle to a cup final. To get into the final, it must first eliminate KRC Genk Ladies to do so. Club YLA fights for the final ticket on Saturday at home (Aalter stadium), at 16h15.
ROAD TO THE SEMIFINALS
Club YLA's cup adventure started in the fourth round. It was easily survived after a 3-0 victory against Svelta Melsele A. In the eighth final, KV Mechelen was a tough opponent. In a spectacular match YLA drew the longest straw, 6-3. In the previous round, the quarterfinals, the second division team Kontich had to go. A cunning YLA won 1-3 to secure a spot in the last four. The other semifinal is between Standard and Zulte-Waregem.
If Club YLA wins, it will thus be in the final of the Cup of Belgium. It would be a great achievement in a season where YLA has been growing towards its best form. Just Saturday, the ladies won with the smallest difference from Charleroi.
