Hans Vanaken: “It was a clear penalty”
No one at Club expected the team losing their first points against Eupen. Hans Vanaken was disappointed after the game and got a yellow card at the end.
“Of course we did not take this into account", said the Golden Shoe. "We really wanted to win tonight. It might have been a disadvantage that they lost twice before because they played very defensively today. They tried to gain time and to prevent us from playing. In this way, we did not manage to score. We did not get a penalty for that fault on Ruud (Vormer, nvdr). Otherwise it would have been a different game. It was very hard to find openings since they played well-organized."
Whether this disappointment might influence the next European game at Linz? “I don't think we need to take this result with us. We need to learn from this experience and try to find solutions when teams play like this against us in the future. We will certainly talk about this but it will be a totally different game on Tuesday.” (FDC)
