Hans Vanaken: "Contract extension sign of respect and appreciation"

Hans Vanaken was handed his Golden Shoe just before kickoff. The Limburger validated that honor with an excellent match, an assist and a goal.

"It feels good to be able to win again from Anderlecht and of course I am also happy with my contribution. It's nice for me to note that my statistics are starting to thicken again. We play a strong first half, but in that we always need to score more. We knew Anderlecht could start so sharply in the second half, but fortunately we did. We were able to score immediately and after that red card we were actually able to play the match out quietly. It is clear that we are a lot further ahead in terms of maturity and experience than Anderlecht, but that is also normal. They are also missing a lot of players now because of injuries, Corona, etc...So I think it is still a bit of a wait for the best Anderlecht, but of course that is their problem and we should not be concerned with that."

This week, the Limburger extended his contract at Club Brugge until 2025. "For me that is a sign of respect and appreciation from the board. Of course you sometimes think when an offer comes from the Premier League, but I feel good here and don't need to leave.
