Hans Vanaken and coach Ronny Deila were disappointed after the defeat on the field of Kortrijk.
"It is not easy when you have to fight against a wall that is only focused on defending, even when the score is still 0-0", started Vanaken. "They of course defended even more after they took the lead which made it even harder for us. There was few space to create chances. It is very pity and frustrating because we actually have to win matches like this."
Vanaken felt that the team was lacking efficiency: "It is not good enough. We bring ourselves into trouble. We are dominating every single match but we do not decide matches. I am very disappointed. We have to keep on working hard in order to change this situation around, as cliché as it sounds."
Ronny Deila was also very disappointed: "It's been somewhat the same pattern for us the last few games. I think we started the game very well and created a big chance via Thiago. Kortrijk were good in the conversion, we felt that, and then they got a big opportunity to score which is what they did. After the goal, I do think we kept on playing football and we were able to create another big chance. In the second half, we also kept going forward and really tried to push. It's then very unfortunate that we didn't finish our chances and missed the penalty kick. It is especially disappointing because lately we have had a lot of games where we really dominated but could not finish our chances. All that matters is that you bang the ball against the nets and we didn't do that today."
