Lugano suffers defeat, wins for both Besiktas and Bodø/Glimt

FC Lugano, hosting the game in Club Brugge's next Conference League fixture, suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Servette Genève. Besiktas and Bodø/Glimt both bounced back brilliantly by both besting their league opponents.


FC Lugano – Servette Genève 0-1

FC Lugano suffered a home defeat against Servette Genève. The loss refers the side to fourth place, seven points behind leaders FC Zurich with one game in hand. Servette took the lead in the 38th minute courtesy of Crivelli. Despite a number of personnel changes and the majority of possession, FC Lugano was unable to turn the tides. (EV)

Besiktas – Istanbulspor 2-0

An easy derby win for Besiktas against Istanbulspor, thanks to an early Aboubakar goal, and a late spot kick by Ghezzal. The hosts were off to an excruciating start, and saw their initiative rewarded by Aboubakar's goal in the 6th minute. Besiktas now had wings, but both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aboubakar were unable to broaden the gap.

After the break, a still dominant Besiktas  found Jensen on its way to a second goal, which finally came just before the final whistle, as Ghezzal doubled the hosts' lead from the spot after a Sarikaya foul on Tosun. (KV)

Molde - Bodø/Glimt 1-3

An inspried Bodø/Glimt beat Molde on Sunday: 1-3, goals coming from Ulrik Saltnes, an own-goal and Tobias Gulliksen. The scoreline could have been broader, had it not been for the Bodø missing two penalty kicks.

The visitors opened the score from a corner kick, Ulrik Saltnes firing it in from close range, only to see the lead chalked out by Molde's equaliser, as Grodem headed it in in style. Just before half-time, however, Bodø again took the lead, and again following a corner kick and an own-goal by Breivik, deviating the ball by the first post.

The second half started out perfectly for the visitors, seeing Tobias Gulliksen add a third to Bodø's tally. In a second half seasoned with chances, the two goalies proved their mettle. First, Nikita Haikin denied Breivik from the spot, only to see this effort outdone by his colleague, stopping not one, but two penalty kicks as both Grønbæk and Moumbagna were unable to score from the spot. No more goals followed, leaving Bodø/Glimt firmly in charge in Norway, top of the league with three points ahead of first contenders Viking FK. (KN)
