Thanks to a 2-0 victory against KV Mechelen, Club secured its eighth win in a row. Mats Rits paved the way for Blauw-Zwart by opening the score on the half-hour against his former team.
"We made it difficult for ourselves," Mats Rits opened his press talk. "I don't think I'm exaggerating, but at halftime we should have scored at least two more goals and then obviously the game would have been done. Now it was only 1-0 and anything could still happen after the break. Mechelen had a good game plan with very high pressure. It's never easy to get through that in one piece, but I think that gave us some space in the transition and goal chances. But then you have to finish them off."
For Blauw-Zwart, it was already the eighth league win in a row. "Eight wins in a row is obviously good for our confidence. We will now see what the final point difference is with current leader Union, although I just heard that the game will have to be decided in front of the green table because of the early dismissal of that game. Now, if it's two or three points, it doesn't really matter. We will do everything we can to still grab that title, but of course it won't be easy." (FDC)
