Club briefly got into tight spots when it fell behind 0-2, but in two minutes the tenuous situation was rectified. Maxim De Cuyper was confident that qualification for the pool phase of the Conference League was over-deserved.
"I think we are going to the group stage over-deservedly," were the first words of Club's left back. "We were clearly the better team for 115 minutes or so. We struggled at times because Osasuna scored twice out of nowhere. One from a corner kick and the second time came from a cross that was headed in. Two chances, two goals for them and that was sour of course to fall behind like that. Nevertheless, we responded very well and I think we deserved to continue. At halftime the coach asked us to continue in the same way, namely with runners at their backs to create chances that way. It also came down to keeping up the pressure, because he was convinced that the goals would come. After the break we did exactly what the coach had asked us to do and after we made some substitutions our goals came in quick succession. We just felt that we were then rewarded for our work done after all. Thus we achieved our first goal of the season, which was to reach the pool phase of the Conference League, which was actually a must. It certainly wasn't easy, but I'm very relieved that we got this far anyway." (FDC)
