As usual, many teams came to Jan Breydel for the Club Brugge Oldstars Cup, an international walking football tournament. This edition was won by Essevee Oldstars in the 55+ category and by Oldstars Mechelen in the 65+ category.
21 Belgian teams and 3 Dutch teams competed in the Club Brugge Oldstars Cup. A novelty this year: the teams were divided into two categories, namely the 55+ and the 65+ category. Although the day started rainy, the soccer fun was immediately present. At 10:30 a.m., after the opening ceremony, the first matches were kicked off.
After a delicious pasta at lunch for all athletes, the sun was present after noon. Leo Van der Elst also stopped by and took a picture with the attendees. In the 55+ category, Essevee Oldstars and Walking Bears Vissenaken took on each other. This final was won by Essevee Oldstars with 0-3. In the 65+ category it was a match between Oldstars Mechelen and Club Brugge Legends. Oldstars Mechelen won the match 2-1.
The day ended with a solemn award ceremony in the FCB Kaffee. Another fantastic edition of the Club Brugge Oldstars Cup.
The FairPlay trophy of this edition goes to Union SG. Thanks to all teams present!
