Olympique de Marseille verslaat RC Lens met 3-1

UEFA Champions League

Olympique de Marseille recorded a victory in Ligue 1 on Saturday by beating RC Lens 3-1 at home. The home side started the match strongly and took the lead as early as the third minute thanks to a goal by Amine Gouiri. The lead was extended shortly thereafter by Ethan Nwaneri. The 18-year-old midfielder, rented from Arsenal, made it 2-0 in his debut match. After halftime, Gouiri added his second goal of the evening, pushing Marseille further out. For Lens, Rayan Fofana scored the 3-1.

It was also a special night for Quinten Timber: a day after his transfer from Feyenoord, he made his debut for Olympique de Marseille. The midfielder started in the starting lineup and was substituted in the second half.

After the victory, Marseille is third in the standings with 38 points. RC Lens remains second with 43 points, while Paris Saint-Germain leads the standings with 45 points.
