Philip Zinckernagel opened the scoring with a crisp header on a pass from Maxim De Cuyper. Club eventually won 7-1 over RWDM.
"We played well today, despite some fatigue from the midweek match and traveling. But it shows the quality of the team. In the first half we were a little sloppy in periods. RWDM is certainly not a bad team, they play aggressively. If you play into their cards in midfield, they tackle you hard. But in the end we showed the quality and the goals came that killed the game. So not an easy start, but a comfortable victory. The coach instructs us to have fun on the field, but at the same time we have to keep structure and keep the balance between attacking and defending."
What a start in advance for Zinckernagel at Blauw-Zwart. "I'm happy here. With these great players around me, it's easy to score. Maxim De Cuyper's cross was very good and that gives me the best chances to perform. It's only my second header goal in two years, I thought." (KN)
