Replacing Hugo Vetlesen, Philip Zinckernagel made his debut for Club Brugge and the Danish newcomer was delighted.
"It was a nice game to fill in, not least because of the wide lead," he immediately interjected. "My first days have already gone well, I was warmly received and well taken care of. Now it's me to gradually build up in the coming days and weeks, pick up the rhythm and cultivate the necessary automatisms."
When asked which position he prefers to be played in, Zinckernagel answered clearly at the outset. "It doesn't really matter to me, today I had to go out on the 10 but I can just as easily do my thing on the flanks, it's up to the coach to decide. After all, there is a lot of quality running around here and there is a lot of competition. So it comes down to showing yourself every game, this should be a challenge for everyone."
Finally, Zinckernagel also addressed his transfer to Club very briefly. "If a team like Club Brugge shows interest, of course you are going to listen, it is and remains the biggest team in the country. The first contacts date from two months back but gradually Blauw-Zwart has moved on. A return to Belgium is not a step backwards for me, because here I can compete for prizes and play European soccer. Rather this than a place with a mid-tier team in, say, Germany or Spain." (MV)
