After the 2-2 against Eupen on the opening match day, Club Brugge also stuck to a draw against Cercle. Philippe Clement could therefore not be satisfied with the result.
"We started with full conviction to score as soon as possible. During the first few minutes it was just off a few times, but then it fell silent. Then at the end of the first half we were very dominant. After a good combination we led 1-0 and then we kept going for the 2-0 and 3-0. We did the same after halftime as well, with numerous more chances. Moreover, we only gave away one chance. It is therefore very unfortunate that it did not result in three points. The counter goal was not deserved at all, so it is very sour to lose two points like that. I can't blame the players much. Of course we can do certain things better, but the intentions were there. It's just that the execution wasn't always perfect. It could easily have been 2-0 or 3-0. Then everyone is happy and euphoric. But now the feeling is completely different." (SF)
