After the big win against RWDM, we gathered reactions from Simon Mignolet and coach Ronny Deila.
Simon Mignolet: “We made it easy for ourselves"
The enthusiastic Club fans enjoyed the big 1-6 victory on the RWDM pitch. Simon Mignolet was also very happy after the match.
"We did more than our thing here and played a very good game. After a good start, we made it very easy for ourselves by scoring twice," said the goalkeeper satisfied.
"RWDM also started well and played well for the first 20 minutes, but we started very efficiently and played well right away. It gets easier that way, even though RWDM didn't play badly themselves. They also created danger a few times."
After the 0-4, RWDM still managed to score and so there was no new clean sheet for the goalkeeper of the Blues: "We lost our focus a bit just after that goal, I think. That's a shame, but that's how it is now. We played a strong game otherwise." (EV)
Ronny Deila: “The confidence becomes bigger and bigger”
Ronny Deila saw his team put in a very strong performance, scoring six goals and fuelling extra confidence.
"I am very satisfied. RWDM started very aggressively, so we had to defend in the beginning, but we were very efficient. We finished our first two chances and that made it a lot easier to play football. Moreover, the players kept going, unlike Sunday against Gent. The confidence within the team is getting bigger and bigger. Thiago is also brimming with confidence. He is playing well for a while now. I am also happy that he kept going after that first goal. He is very hungry to keep on scoring and was even able to score a hat-trick that way."
The coach is very clear about the next match: "Every match we play is crucial. We have already played 33 matches and we always have to win. Tuesday's match against Union is also very important. We will do everything we can to keep the three points home." (JDN/SF)
