After an intense match, Blauw-Zwart loses 3-2 at Stayen. Read all the reactions of Hans Vanaken and coach Nicky Hayen here.

Hans Vanaken: "The ball just doesn't want to go in at the end."

Blauw-Zwart went down 3-2 at Stayen. At the end Club tried to pull out all the stops, but to no avail. Captain Hans Vanaken made his analysis immediately after the whistle.
"The ball just didn't want to go in at the end, just didn't want to fall right. That is the difference between a team that is in a good flow and a team that has more difficulty scoring. Then the ball falls just short more often than not, like the ball on the crossbar by Kaye Furo. After our goal we gave away the chances ourselves by making wrong choices, like the lateral ball I gave them that resulted in the penalty. We also let them come into their game too much after the 1-1.

Blauw-Zwart had to go into halftime behind after a penalty goal by STVV. "The second half we started with new energy, came out stronger and were able to create openings with, among others, the good substitute Carlos Forbs. The 2-2 was therefore deserved. They came in front of the goal just about the first time in the second half and the 3-2 fell from the cross. We tried to respond, but the ball just didn't fall right for us anymore. We create enough chances, that's not the problem. I would only be worried if we don't create anything anymore and are played home 4-0, for example. The lapse after the 1-1 was a bit too big, we have to work on that so we remain more consistent throughout the match. We have to, also today, grab more our moments during a match, because we had plenty of chances."

Nicky Hayen: "They grab their moments, we don't".

Club Brugge seemed to go up and over STVV after halftime, but instead of 2-3 it ended up being 3-2. "We started very well, with immediately a good chance for Tzolis. Then we also scored the 0-1 after an attack out of the book. Unfortunately, we then gave away the 1-1 ourselves. After that they took the upper hand and we dropped back too much. I haven't seen the footage of the penalty, but I think it was justified. At halftime we said we had to push forward more. We did that with Carlos and we also scored a very good goal afterwards thanks to Kaye's depth. Then the 2-3 was in the air, but we didn't seize the moment and they scored the 3-2. In the closing stages we gave everything we had, including the ball on the crossbar. Unfortunately it didn't go in, because a draw would have been a fair result. Sometimes you can be in a period where things are a little less good. For Christos, for example, the finishing was a little less successful today, but of course he has given us many goals and assists. The most important thing is to keep supporting each other, even in those difficult moments. We also did a lot of good things today. And also next Wednesday we will do everything we can to stunt."
