After the big win against RWDM, we gathered reaction from Simon Mignolet and coach Ronny Deila.
Simon Mignolet: "We made it easy for ourselves"
For the frenzied Club fans it was enjoyment after the resounding 1-6 victory on the field of RWDM. Simon Mignolet also clearly enjoyed afterward.
"We more than did our thing here and played a very good game. After a good start we did make it very easy for ourselves by scoring twice," the goalkeeper gloated.
"RWDM also started well and played well for the first 20 minutes, but we started very efficiently and played well right away. It gets easier that way, even though RWDM didn't play badly themselves. They also came up a few times."
After the 0-4, RWDM still managed to score and so there was no new clean sheet for the Bruges goalie: "A little loss of focus just after that goal, it seems to me. That's unfortunate, but that's the way it is now, we played an otherwise strong game." (EV)
Ronny Deila: "The confidence is getting bigger and bigger."
Ronny Deila saw his team put in a very good performance, scoring six goals and fueling additional confidence.
"I am very satisfied. RWDM started very aggressively, so we had to defend in the beginning, but we were very efficient. We finished our first two chances, which made it a lot easier to play soccer. Moreover, the players kept going, unlike Sunday against Gent. The confidence within the team is getting bigger and bigger. Thiago is also brimming with confidence. He has been in good shape for a while now. I am also happy that he kept going after that first goal. He is very hungry to keep scoring and was even able to score a hat trick that way."
About the next match, the coach is very clear: "Every match we play is crucial. We have already played 33 matches and always have to win. The match Tuesday against Union is also very important. We are going to do everything we can to get the three points." (JDN/SF)
