Real, PSG and Galatasaray were victorious

Club Brugge's European opponents in the Champions League were all victorious. Real Madrid - Club's next opponent on Wednesday - beat Espanyol 2-0, PSG won 1-3 against Montpellier and Galatasaray sent Alanyaspor home empty-handed following a 1-0 win.

Real Madrid - Espanyol: 2-0


Real Madrid bagged an easy 2-0 win against Espanyol. The visitors, second but last, had a good chance on the half-hour mark, but Courtois palmed away Granero's header.

The hosts were more lucky a few minutes later when Raphaël Varane broke the deadlock. Ten minutes before the end Karim Benzema killed the game with a second goal for Real Madrid. In the final minutes left full-back Mendy picked up his second yellow card. Real had to end the game with ten, but didn't come into trouble anymore.

With this victory, Zinédine Zidane's side is still joint first with FC Barcelona. (SF)

Montpellier - PSG: 1-3


Paris Saint-Germain picked up three points on the road, despite a horrible first half for Thomas Tuchel's team. Kimpembe and Gueye limped off with an injury inside the first half an hour of play and Paredes scored an owngoal just before the half-time signal.

The home side wheatered PSG's pressure until the home side were down to ten after a second yellow for Pendro Mendes with twenty minutes on the clock. It was the sign for the visitors, with Thomas Meunier playing ninety minutes - to up the tempo. In a margin of only seven minutes Neymar, Mbappé and Icardi drilled one in.

Thanks to this result, PSG keep an eight-point lead on Olympique Marseille. (SF)

Galatasaray kept the three points home on matchday 14 in the Turkish Süper Lig following a 1-0 win over Alanyaspor. A couple of weeks ago the visitors were leadin gthe pack, but have been dropping points the last few weeks.

The only goal of the evening was Belhanda's spot kick after twenty minutes play. Fifteen minutes before the end Radamel Falcao came on after his injury.

Thanks to this win Galatasaray move up to sixth position, trailing league leaders Sivasspor by seven points. (SF)
