Rik De Mil: "Positive about my group, but too bad we don't finish chances"

Coach Rik De Mil was positive about his team's play after the defeat against KRC Genk, but obviously also disappointed with the result.

"First of all, I want to say congratulations to Genk on the win," the coach began his story. "As for my team, again I saw a very combative Club Brugge. That is not an obvious thing given the situation we are in. We again tried to show ourselves positively against a strong team. We had more ball possession than Genk and that already says something against a team known for their positive soccer. We created a lot of chances, but then it's a pity we didn't finish them. Both offensively and defensively I see a problem. We are playing good soccer, but we are not rewarding ourselves. In addition, we are conceding goals too easily. That of course makes it difficult to win matches. So I'm positive about my group and the way they made it difficult for Genk, but it's unfortunate and disappointing that we didn't finish our chances."
The coach also looked ahead to the match against Union. "We are all professionals, so you can be sure that we will also give 100% everything against Union (just like today against Genk). Next week we will just go full out again. We have a big injured list, but we will give everything with the available players. I would like to pay tribute to the young guys. Both the starters and the substitutes have done more than their job, so I am not at all dissatisfied with my group. We are going to try to get points against Union anyway," concludes Rik De Mil (TM).
